Moraito was a flamenco guitarist who was known for his powerful, rhythmic and expressive style. He was born into a family of guitarists in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, and learned from his uncle Manuel Morao and his father Juan Moreno. He accompanied many famous flamenco singers, such as José Mercé, Camarón de la Isla and La Paquera de Jerez, and also performed as a soloist. He died in 2011 after a long battle with cancer.

Morao y Oro is one of his two solo albums, released in 1992. It features nine tracks of different flamenco forms, such as bulerías, sevillanas, tangos and malagueñas.
